Put The Fun Back In Your Golf Game!
The Players Course is a 5600 yard course designed to put the fun back in golf!
By carefully selecting tee locations we have created a more golfer friendly experience giving players more options from the tee and creating manageable second shots into greens. The Players Course combines challenge and forgiveness that golfers of any skill level can enjoy.
Tee It Forward on the Players Course!
Why Play The Players Course?
Tee Off Like A Pro
Not even tour pros hit driver on every par 4 and par 5. If you watch golf on television you will notice tour pros (except maybe Corey Pavin) teeing off with irons, hybrids and fairway woods. That is not because they drive the ball 330 yards with a 3 iron, it’s because it is the appropriate club selection for the length of hole being played. That means even the PGA Tour plays some short holes from time to time. The appropriate set of tees would be a mix of tee shots (except for par three holes) using clubs ranging from a 3 iron to a driver. If you have to use driver on every hole except the par three holes you are playing the wrong set of tees. The Players Course is an excellent choice for discovering what your true abilities are and improving your game.
Hit Manageable Second Shots
Most golfers select a set of tees based on their “perceived driving distance”. This distance is often much greater than the “actual driving distance”. The perceived driving distance sets golfers up to play a golf course that is too long for their ability and leaves them with overly difficult second shots from missed drives. The Players Course offers an advantage by placing less importance on the driver and opens up more options from the tee, thereby giving you an opportunity to still score well from a missed drive.
Play Within Yourself
The best golf you have ever played is when you feel like you have “played within yourself”. Obviously, this means you never tried to overpower the golf course and seemed to consistently make easy relaxed swings. By playing the Players Course you will find yourself in a position to play within yourself more often and in turn you will retrain yourself to “swing easy”.
Improve Your Mental Approach To Golf
Golf is a game of inches, and it’s usually the six inches between the ears that cause the most problems. It is a dysfunction of mankind that requires us to egotistically play a longer set of tees than we should. For some reason we as humans would rather say we shot 99 from the back tees than 72 from the “appropriate” tees. The best players in the world have never had a problem playing from a shorter set of tees during a championship.
Learn How To Go Low
Too often golfers get on a roll during a round and start making good scores on a string of holes. Then, unfortunately, they think “if I could just par in I could shoot my best ever” and invariably begin to fall apart. Nobody ever shot low by “protecting” a good score. Golfers must learn to get over the anxiety of having a good score going and learn to go low. Playing a forward set of tees and scoring well throughout the round will train you to become comfortable with good scores. The best players of all time learned how to score well on a shorter course before they learned how to score well on a longer one.
